Kakatur: Kakatur is the 24th “Theerthamkarathi Dham” and is widely regarded as one of the world’s best architectural Dhams. According to historians, the 12th and 13th centuries saw a Jainism influence in old Nellore. The consecration of the Mahaveer idol was performed by Acharya Vijaya Shree Kalapoorna Sureswar Maharaj. Every square inch of the temple has been intricately and artistically sculpted and chiselled, leaving onlookers speechless in their admiration for the sculptors’ skill and creativity.
Penukonda: The Digamber Jains make pilgrimage to this Jain Tirth in Andhra Pradesh, which is located in the southern section of Penukonda. This enormous temple is the largest of its kind, measuring 100 by 127 feet. Both Goddess Shrutadevi and Lord Parswanatha have idols at this temple. Kulpakji: The 2,000-year-old shrine of Kulpakji, also known as Konalupaka Jain Temple, is a significant Svetambar Jain pilgrimage site. This Jain temple, which is located in Telangana’s Nalgonda district, is home to 42 historic statues of Shri Adinath Bhagwan, also known by the name Manikyaswami. The temple is conveniently located 100 kilometres from Hyderabad city and is easily accessible by both train and plane thanks to the city’s excellent connectivity.
Gummileru: In the Andhra Pradesh village of Gummileru lies one of the Jain pilgrimages known as the Shree Shankheshwar Parshwanath Jain Temple. Here, statues of the Tirthankars, including Lord Parshwanath, were discovered. The holy figures were portrayed as being seated in the “Ardha-Padmasana” mudra. The dating revealed that these statues are more than 2000 years old.
Pedamiram: Around 45 Jata Yukt idols of Shri Adinath Bhagwan are housed in this Tirth in Pedamiram. The idols were unearthed some 130 years ago, and non-Jains also adore them. The idols’ inscriptions, which date to the Maurya Empire, indicate that they are 2600 years old. This temple’s stunning atmosphere is captivating.
