Shimla: The Queen of Hills
Shimla is fondly referred to as the “Queen of Hills.” Steeped in colonial charm, this hill station exudes an old-world aura, coupled with panoramic views of snow-capped mountains and lush green valleys. As you travel through its roads adorned with colonial architecture, the warmth of Shimla’s rich heritage engulfs you.
The Ridge, a prime landmark in Shimla, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. From here, you can enjoy the mesmerising scene of the sunrise and witness the skies turning pink and orange as the sun rises.
For history lovers, a visit to the Viceregal Lodge, also known as ‘Rashtrapati Niwas’, is a must. During the colonial times, this Victorian age building was used as the summer residence of British Viceroys.
No trip to Shimla is complete without a joyful ride on the historic toy train, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On this journey, you can enjoy the scenic views of dense forests and spend a memorable time with your family and friends.
Manali: Gateway to Adventure
Like Shimla, Manali is also a beautiful town known as the adventure capital of Himachal Pradesh. It is located at a height of 2050 meters above sea level and hundreds of travellers visit this hill station to enjoy the beautiful views of lush valleys, snow-capped mountain peaks, and gushing rivers.
The Rohtang Pass, located at an elevation of 3,978 meters, serves as a gateway to the enchanting valleys of Lahaul and Spiti. Here, amidst magnificent mountains and pristine glaciers, one can indulge in exciting activities like skiing, snowboarding, and trekking, making it a paradise for adventure lovers.
A visit to the Solang Valley also offers a plethora of recreational activities, from paragliding and zorbing to quad biking and horse riding. As you soar high above the valley, the panoramic views of the Himalayas unfold beneath you.
Along with adventurous activities, Manali is also known for its spiritual significance, with ancient temples such as Hadimba Devi Temple and Manu Temple. These sacred sites are nestled amidst dense forests and verdant meadows and are must-visit destinations while travelling to Manali.
Moreover, you can enjoy shopping and taste scrumptious street food on Mall Road in Manali. Along with spicy and tangy Bhel, Samosas, and Momos, you can also taste quintessential Himachali cuisines like Khatta, Sidu, Babru, Patande, Aktori, and more.
